The GED site was also set up so that enquiries for particular areas of academic endeavour were directed to the specific person within GED's organisation so that double handling of information flow was minimised. All forms are delivered to the staff member who specialises in that area of the program. With the web site now settling into daily use GED has recognised that there is now scope to run more courses each calendar year with little change to staffing levels or resources. The site effectively bridges the gap between academic groups seeking programs and GED's staff. All information takes a defined path and is totally absorbed and acted upon from original enquiry to program completion. The
next phase of the integration process will be the reporting tools to
compare aspects of programs that have commonality and performance of
the "system" as it continues its evolution. All in all a very
exciting time to be at the cutting edge of a new technology. |
